So my 80 gb ipod classic is running out of space and i really need my fat 160gb ipod back up and running again. I dropped it and im guessing i broke the hdd because it keeps telling me to restore it even though i tried restoring it a couple of times already. I saw a hard drive from toshiba in amazon that was a 240gb hdd and i was wondering if it was i could use that rather than getting another 160gb hdd since my music library is growing rapidly. http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-240GB-MK2431GAH-Hard-Drive/dp/B009A6PT9M/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top thats the hdd that i found in amazon. I also heard that people who used it had to buy a thicker back cover and i was wondering if the fat ipod classic needed it too if i were to get that hdd.
which hard drive can i replace my ipod classic's hard drive with?

There are tons of plastic tools they sell on ebay. Why dont you just do the flashmod and get rid of the hard drive? http://www.tarkan.info/20070804/tutorials/modding/ipod-video-compact-flash-mod/all/1
I did this mod and never looked back, maybe 10 mins or so but you want to take your time. I did it no problem and I'm not super mechanicaly inclined.
