Morrow Audio SP 2, 14 feet [4.3 meters]. RAVE Reviews. Can be used as bi-wire or non-bi-wire
Will Ship To: Anywhere
I bought these new about 3 years ago when I required an extra long set of speaker wires.
These are about 14 feet long which is about 4.3 meters.
Since a few people asked, here are more details:
This is a pair of speaker wires.
It is the SP2 model in bi-wire configuration, but can just as easily be used for "regular" configuration,
which is what I did.
EACH individual speaker cable (e.g. the "left" channel) has a black and red on the amp side and a black/blue (-) and red/white (+) on the speaker side.
There are a total of 8 speaker ends; four amp ends,.
You can use them as a bi-wire pair or you can combine the wires (which I did) to use as a traditional speaker wire. It's easy as they
will easily fit on any speaker terminal.
The ends are "nude" aka "tinned" ends.
The cables are in excellent condition: jackets, wire, etc. all great.
I just discovered that ONE of the eight tinned speaker ends should be re-tinned. You can do this yourself OR I will absorb the cost to have these professionally re-tinned by Mike Morrow at morrow audio. Mike warranties all his cables and since I purchased directly from him, these cables are under warranty. If you wish to re-tin yourself, I'll reduce the price by $20. [That's my cost of round trip shipping to Mike and back].
$160 if you re-tin yourself.
NEW COST =
A 4 meter set of bi-wire = $418
A 4 meter set of regular = $346
Even with one of Mike's sales, this will run over $300.
Priced reduced. Selling for $180.
MANY great reviews available at morrowaudio.com. Here's one:
"I was in the process of upgrading the cables in my system, and after investing over $4500.00 in two pairs of interconnects (and ready to spend over $4000.00 on new speaker cables), I found Morrow Audio on Audiogon. I figured at the costs Mike was asking for his products, I could give his SP2 speaker cables a shot.
Well to my surprise, the bettered the $2500.00 TL speaker cables by a wide margin. I ended up purchasing an additional set and am very pleased with the improvement to my system. Great product and value!" Jim
Oh, here's another one
"I am using the Morrow Audio SP2 Reference speaker cables in two of my audio systems - one pair in a bi-wired configuration and one pair in a shotgun configuration but with the additional conductors used to construct the bi-wired cables.
The Morrow speaker cables are exceedingly transparent, exhibiting a perfectly neutral tonal balance and a very natural, realistic sound. Mike, you're doing a great service to the audiophile community in offering these reasonably priced reference-quality cables. Truly an incredible bargain!" Bob
They are tinned ends, so you can use them "naked" or put your own termination on them.
All in great shape with nice black mesh jacket.
These are an excellent set of cables and ideal should you require the extra length.
I've kept them in storage (under the bed) for a year as a backup, but I never use them, so better they play some tunes in a new room.
There are some stellar reviews on various sites, including Morrow's site: morrowaudio.com.
I have perfect feedback on Agon and head-fi.
Just a thought. IF you don't need 14 feet, you could easily create an 8 foot pair and have a 6 foot pair to use in your office or bedroom system.
