Winter Meet 2014 Westerville ohio (north columbus) - Page 4

If my Mad Dogs aren't out being upgraded I'll have them at the meet. But I won't really know until the 22nd or I get the letter, whichever comes first.

I'll leave my TT behind since it sounds like I'd be the only one using it.

It isn't that there's zero interest.  I'd give it a listen to see how the 2M Bronze sounds (I'm running the stock Elys 2 in mine) and I'm sure one or two others would out of curiosity, but I've brought it twice to meets and three people total listened the first time to one song apiece and I was the only one to listen the second time.  It's not easy to transport the TT and it doesn't get as much use as amps do is all.

I'm a vinyl guy. Got two VPI tables and an old Sota table in house. But I feel it's not safe to travel with any of it. I won't even touch anyone's records or table because I just know what can happen if an accident happens. So I'm just saying based on that alone, leave it at home.

Not only that but vinyl isn't really something for critiquing audio

critiquing  audio at meet like this is not very good over all. too much noise from talking and chatting people around. I would if this is your first meet get a sample of the sound signatures and then enjoy the company that is there.

And sometimes too much alcohol. ;) But I really enjoyed the group that was there at the last meet. Excited to get to see many people again and some new faces as well.

Haha, am I the only one here who would love to listen to some vinyl?

Nope. I have never heard a good record player through my amp/cans. If you were to bring it, that would be pretty cool.

I am a 100% confirmed now for the date, and I don't even have to use vacation time to do so. Huzzah!

Hey alright!  Now, all we need is your Alpha Dogs in your hands, and we'll let you inside.

Did I read you got the balanced cable version?  So I can plug em into the Mjolnir.

Well I'm still sitting on the upgrade list. I won't be able to send in my Mad Dogs until I get the email from MrSpeakers. They're working at a 4-week turnaround time right now, so the odds of me having Alphas in time for the meet are extremely slim. But yes, I'll be getting the balanced version since my Light Harmonic setup is balanced, and I'll have that sometime in late spring or summer.

Fine.

Bring beers, then.

We gotta do a multi Senn 650 set up of some sorts.  So don't forget yours.

Anyone have a source that we can run 3 different amps with 650's from?

My dac has RCA and balanced outputs, could use a splitter on the RCA but maybe someone else has a better solution.

I can definitely bring those. No modifications whatsoever with stock cable, unless I balance the stock cable before the meet. If I do then I'll have a 4-pin to 1/4" adapter with it.
