Headphone dac/amp vmoda m100.

Hello guys, so I dont know what dac to buy, for the vmoda m100.

I currently have the xonar phoebus soundcard, but I just noticed how horrendous dolby home theater is, it really dulls down the sound and adds tons of reverb.

So can someone recommend me a nice desktop dac/amp?

I was looking at the Audioengine D1 or the objective 2 ODAC jdslabs.

Not sure if the price difference would be worth it, as the m100 is low ohm.

Thanks :)

Have not heard either of the units you mentioned... but I can't help but spread the love for the new Audioquest Dragonfly 1.2 USB DAC/amp.  Yes, it is a micro/portable solution and not a desktop per se, but I bought the original for work/travel and liked it so much that I grabbed the new 1.2 to use at home until I am ready for something further up the chain in terms of a desktop solution.  I have the M-100, and it sounds great with the Dragonfly and I don't think I am missing anything.  I also use HD-700 and I don't think I am missing much with that pairing either.  If I had an HD-600 or Q701 or HE-500 then yes, I would want a little more power and maybe, just barely maybe, a more resolving DAC, but I think the DAC game is becoming more of a game of expectation bias than anything else.  I consider myself an audiophile, and have spent many years with entry to mid level high end audio, and if someone told me I would have to live with the dragonfly from here on out, I wouldn't really mind as long as my headphones were fairly easy to drive, like the M-100.
