I don't like HD598 sound leakage and isolation, any recommendations?

I've used Sennheiser HD598 for 8 months so far. Amazing soundstage and comfort but I'm afraid to crank up the volume because of leakage. I just don't like others to know what I am listening at :). Sometimes I used Steelseries Siberia V2 but I always prefer HD598 .. I just don't know why.

I'm thinking of getting in-ear headphones because I wear glasses. Those big cans just keep grinding with my glasses and make annoying sound.

My priorities: (Budget around $100-$390)

1- Sound Isolation

2- Minimum Sound Leakage

3- Bass (Not too boomy)

4- Close to HD598 Overall sound quality

5- Comfort

I power my headphones with Fiio E17 (Treble: 10, Bass: 10, Gain:12db) and I use it with PC and PS3.

So far I found these but I don't know which one so I'd need your help.

Audio-Technica ATH-M50

AKG K550

Shure SE215

Grado GR8

Sennheiser HD 380 also deserves a look.

If you like the HD598's soundstage you may want to look into the Audio Technica Art line of headphones. The Senn has a really unique soundstage that you won't really find elsewhere but AT is probably a close second. The open ATs are some of the least leaky open headphones out there, the closed ones will give you the isolation you need(and they tend to have a fit that work well with glasses.)

The only thing I'd question is what type of music you listen to. The ATs like the Senn can be a little 'diffuse' hence why I suggested them if you like the 598s, but they are also a lot lighter in tone. I didn't like the ATs much with my metal but they'd be great for pretty much anything else.

Hello,

I will go for the AKG K550 if I were you. On your E17, tune the bass to +2/4 and treble at 0 , it will highly benefit the K550. I personally find the AKG K550 to be a better pair of headphone than HD598 unless you have small head, then the sealing may be an issue but you can go for the AKG K545 :)

Hope it helps

I'll be using it not only for music but for every sound my PC plays. I like any instrumental music with some bass but not DJ style.

So, It's Either Sennheiser HD 380 Pro or AKG K550.

Which one should I go for?

Definitely K550, though I've read in reviews that people have problems with wearing them with glasses (it messes up with the seal). I'd go for the K545 instead.

Unfortunately, I didn't find K550 but I bought this which I believe is the new version of it.

I can't wait to listen to it once after burn-in!
