Besides that, it all really comes down to a matter of taste considering how generally good all those models are. If I were buying myself a closed model for mostly classical, I would buy SRH840 with the full intention of modding the headband. To some extent, that reflects my preference for piano and organ over orchestral as I think some of the others make orchestral music sound better.


Guess I'm going to have to flip a 4-sided coins...840/k550 or k545/HP100/ZMF :o

Based on AKG's previous successes with classical, K550 seems to have a lot going for it. Just as long as you don't have a small head and don't mind that it doesn't fold up. Watch Tyll's video review (if you haven't already).

Yea, I've read that too. Maybe I will look at the K545 instead of K550 if I do AKG.

hahah niice. the k545 is one of the few new headphones that I'm excited to try out :) i really enjoyed the k550 when i had it.

Yea, still not decided on which one though. Want to hear them first hopefully.
