Sennheiser HD 212 PRO modern equivalent.

I have bought and returned 4 pairs of headphones in the last week due to overwhelming bass that drowns everything else out. My 10 year old Sennheiser 212's are wearing out and i'm trying to find an equivalent for around $100. Aside from equal tones, i would like to have the 3 button cord control, if possible. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Which headphones did you buy?

Sol Republic, Sennheiser 428's, Eskuche and some $30 Sony's.

The 428's had the best sound of them all,but were not very comfortable and the cord was very thin and seemed cheap.

Understandable, then. Hmm, can't help you much as I haven't heard the hd212's.
