So, I'm looking to buy headphones and Beyerdynamic 770's look nice for the price, except they need an amp, my budget is around $200 for both headphone and an amp, I don't know anything about amps so I need someone on this sites help, would anybody know if an amp around $50 would be able to power the 770's enough? I was considering the FiiO E11. These are the 250 ohm one's that I'm considering. sorry for cluttererd post i just woke up.

Do you connect DT 770 250 Ohm phone to computer or ipod or something else?

let me ask you in another way, Do you PLAN to connect DT 770 250 Ohm phone to computer or ipod or something else?

Your answer would be useful for us to give the right suggestion.

I'm mainly going to plug it into my computer, but I'll also be plugging it into my iPod because I travel quite a bit.

You need a portable dac/amp such as E7 k or E17. E7k/E17 can work as dac/amp when connected to computer bypassing the on board soundcard. When connected to ipod, E7k/E17 can work as an amp.

Hi, so I looked at a few of those amps that you mentioned and they're a bit out of my price range for DT-770 250 ohm headphones, but I had a question, would purchasing the 32 ohm version of these headphones and not using an amp/dac be the better choice? I read somewhere that 250 ohm headphones and an amp work better than 32 ohm headphones alone, I'm not too familiar with all of this. =/

You could go for 32 Ohm version.

If DT770 is like DT880, you might want to avoid the unamped 32 ohm version. Look at http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/comparison-beyerdynamic-dt-880-32-ohm-dt-880-250-ohm-and-dt-880-600-ohm-headphones-page-2 among other reviews.
