I think what I might have done is when I dropped the files into the music folder on the AK240, I inadvertently placed them on top of an existing file and it's then picked up that file's artwork. I'll try your suggestions when I get home tonight. I suppose as a last resort I could delete those files and then re-load them onto the device but that's going to be a pain to do!

I'm pretty sure that when you run Initialize Media Scan, which basically rescans your music files, you'll be OK. I'm only speaking from my past experience. Been there, done that!

Glad that you like it.

Strangely this is the only 192 album that I have and my majority of high res are 88/96 (probably have a few 176s).

Where do we post ideas/requests for features? I have a few and I am not sure of Iriver/AK cares, or looks here?

Same here. I began buying 24/96 files since at that time I had storage capacity issues with my Colorfly C4 Pro. Then I started reading about some of the 192 files on HDTracks not being true 192 files. Even though storage is no longer a problem, I still buy 24/96 files unless there is an absolute favorite available in 24/192.

It really comes down to the mastering more so than the sampling rate, IMHO, at least with non-current titles.

By the way, I went riding in Golden Gate Park yesterday and decided to wear my helmet. Your words of caution registered with me ...

There are writings that indicate anything sampling beyond 96 won't yield in SQ as 96 already well cover the sound spectrum. The only exception is DSD as it is a different format.

On bike helmet, I've bought my first serious bike back 12 years ago and at the first ride I fell and my head hit the ground for few times when I was sliding. It was fortunate that I was not hurt in that accident and thereafter I wore helmet for high speed riding (I do still not wearing helmet for my trip to work as I ride a slow bike, a 13" wheeler, and would only take 5 minutes)

Guess who is in the da house?

If I just use an iPhone or iPad with Chord Hugo, is the sound better than AK240? I would think it is a no brainer to pick Hugo over, uh, iRiver, at this price range...

You cant compare em directly..

AK240 - DAP (All in one system)

Hugo - DAC/AMP (Cant play music on its own, needs a source)

Yep...no sound from Hugo just on its own. You might get better SQ to feed Hugo with just an average phone like Samsung but you have to carry a bulk with you around...give and take.

Yes, it's not a fair comparison.  240 is the best compact DAP I've heard.  I find Hugo has better resolution and cleaner sound.  I'm not a fan of the bass I'm getting with my NT6 with the 240(Bass on the NT6 gets very accurate, it scales up with better sources).  Not the most accurate, but performs quite well for the size you can carry around.

I got better stuff, and it's like I have no interest in listening to it unless I'm out and about.  It's only useful for portable use, not really for SQ.

Thats issue in my case..i really want to get the hugo..i really2 do but sadly for my usage..i cant justify using it..even my marvellous portatube amp is now underused. The size of an all in one system like the ak240 fits the bill for my usage.
