New FW upload prompts you to restart when it finishes downloading....no reset necessary.

After your download there's a message prompt you to install the new firmware.  If you don't have that message probably you need to re download it again.

One question - are most of you using this DAP with an amplifier? I have been following the threads on DAPs for some time as looking for something to use with my UM Miracle. I currently have a Ray Samuels SR-71B and Clas Solo and it would be great to go to a one box solution. However, if these DAPs require a decent amplifier I will hold off until there is a better one box solution.

Thanks

James

It sounds good with my Tralucent Ref.1/uber balanced output.  No amp needs.

Thanks guys.  Yeah i get the prompts and all. Just checking.

I am loving the AK240 with my single DD DITA. The synergy here is far far better than with my Noble N4. It is a more natural, realistic, and satisfying  sound. There is a certain brittleness with the Nobles in the upper mids and treble.

I guess you'll have to ask them to make a custom one for the Ragnarok.

On a side note, I wonder how the one I provided will work. I thought for the balanced lined out for the AK240 one needed a cable with a double head (for the 2.5mm TRRS & the 3.5mm TRS). Wouldn't the ALO one be "double amping" instead? :-

So your not liking the synergy of the Noble 4's and AK-240? That's not good as I have a pair of Noble K-10's coming Monday. Do your N4's preform better on other daps?

For $100, I really like the Hifiman RE400.  Don't know about the availability in Germany.
