Had a new UE cable refitted with 2.5mm TRRS and it's been burning in for 2 days.  Using this on my UE18, have found wider staging and better separation that makes it sound clearer.  Think effects of balanced varies between earphones but has anyone tried AKR03 balanced to AK240 and can share their thoughts?

There are some impressions in the Roxanne Impression thread. The last pages should contain those. Does not look positive.

Kind of disappointed in those threads, not sure if people have given the AKR03 time to burn in and get proper seals etc.  The opinions seem to differ to those with custom Roxannes.  Might have to go out there and try a pair of AKR03 to see if they differ in signature to the Roxanne universals.

I am getting DHC cables with AK240 TRRS terminations for FitEar, LCD-3s and HD800 done. Should get them in the next couple of weeks. Super excited about getting these.

I have not tried the universals. But the side by side pictures of custom and universal Roxannes seem to point to the universal Roxannes being too big for a lot of people.

They are doing very well single ended. The HD800,LCD X and XC and also the alpa dog and PM-1 all are producing stellar results wththe AK240. i think balanced they will have more power and dynamics and will keep you posted.

I used the AK240 fro 4 hr 15 minutes yesterday listening to  high resolution and played only three or four DSD tracks. The battery had only 27 percent left at the end of that time so it was almost dow 3/4 of its power. I am assuming it would lasted 6 hours. What are your experiences in battery  power and the time it last on your AK240? Any participation would be appreciated as I am reviewing the AK240 and would like some more opinions.

Frank- Yesterday I let my 240 "play all" (50% volume) in songs to burn in my new balanced silver cable from Ted Allen (he'd be a great interview for your article). I have a mixture of DSD, Flac, AIFF, iTunes, etc. after 7 hours I still had 10% remaining. And after that short of time there was definitely a burn in factor as the sound changed significantly better with my UERM Capital's.
BTW you responded to me a week ago you were checking MSQ glitch in streaming from Mac. Any follow up?

The MAC program is a beta program. I am getting all the music streaming well but the albums coming up with all the songs on the album but in alphabetical order. I asked about it and wa told if they were loaded that way that is they way they would show,. i sent an email telling them you can only load a cd one way on imac and lossless. They need to fix the bug in the program and still waiting for that answer.   I am will have to test it again and use it tomorrow and see where it ends up

I wish I could get that far! My MQS program starts to open and load and then immediately quits. Perhaps I have an older app and not the beta you mentioned?
Thank you for following up-very much appreciated.

Out of interest, can anyone comment on the sound quality with this player using UM Miracle IEMs as compared to using the same headphones with a rig comprising an Ipod Classic, CLAS Solo and Pico Slim or SR-71B (with balanced cable)? Also for my two channel audio, I have ripped CDs to Lossless FLAC files using DB Poweramp - can I use those same files with the AK240? Thanks James

Most of my files are ripped FLAC with DB Poweramp as well. You shouldn't have to modify anything and all of the tagged information actually transitioned over very smoothly to the AK240. Huge plus not having to reorganize my whole library.
