Firstly DSD tracks play but you can't hear anything through the optical connection. For the coaxial connection, all tracks produce no sound.

As i mentioned view page back , that Hugo strong Point is their DAC Section is excellent , The amp Section is very Good
Thats why if you connect Your AK 240 , Hugo can make SQ improvement

Via optical cable can transfer Up to 24 bit / 192 kHz , if you use optical cable from Sys Concept Canada 1300 Strand 2,2 mm or 5 mm

Noted and thanks!

Got confirmation from Chord that  Hugo can support DSD (DoP) on all inputs including optical (glass fibre), but the player have to support DoP on the digital output.

Let's hope AK240 can enable this in the future firmware update.

Or better yet, the AK120! Since you're going optical out the quality of the DAC doesn't matter.

Hopefully...

I must say AK240 has excellent built-in amp and dac and dare say no external amp is necessary. But the Chord Hugo does make it much sweeter. :-)
