I had tried X and XC with AK240 (singled ended mode) and prefers the 901+discrete card (also SE) over the AK240.  I think while AK240 has a much improved amp section, it's really designed and tuned for CIEM/IEMs for portable standalone use more so than with full size cans.  I would be interested to see how the AD or MD works with AK240, or one of the new HD6/7/8s that I should be able to demo soon.

I am agree with your opinion , ak 240 is very good or better for iem and ciem than headphones

And not all iem sound good to ak 240

I just finish with 1st full charged , took about 6 hours to charge AK 240
My friend said if 100% empty can take ca 10 hours
Anybody has the same charge experience

My first impression after full charge

Source : Ak 240
Iem : Earsonic SM 64 v1
Ciem : UM Miracle use tralucent gold cable

My impression :

Earsonic SM 64 has better synergy compare to UM Miracle

High :
Sm 64 v1 more extended and better clarity compare to um miracle

Mid :
Sm 64 v1 has more clear and clean mid than um miracle

Bass :
Sm 64 v1 has better bass impact and better detail , and cleaner than um miracle

Separation :
Sm 64 v1 has better separation than um miracle

Soundstage :
Sm 64 v1 has wider and deeper soundstage compare um miracle

Overall :
Sm 64 v1 has more balance sounding then miracle like muffle sounding
Everything come out from um miracle so thick

This surprise me that sm 64 v1 has more synergy than um miracle to AK 240

Note : could be the gold cable is not synergy with AK 240 , I will update with different cable like whiplash later on

IMO

My second high end iem is Tralucent 1+ 2

Source : AK 240
Iem : Tralucent 1+2 with UBER cable RSA > RSA to mini plug

These two have better synergy compare to miracle

High : more crisp than miracle , Sm 64 v1 slightly more crisp
Mid : is sweeter and more clear and clean
Bass : has better bass impact than miracle , but not as good as SM 64 v1
Separation : very good separation
Soundstage : wide and deep soundstage

Overall :
With Two top Tier iem and ciem , The Synergy are not what i expected better than Sm 64 v1
Less clarity With these Two top Tier
My MH 335 DW is not With Me now
At Mook i have tried With Roxanne sound quality was very Good

I Dont Know why ?

Could Be My AK 240 need more hours to Burn In

Note : After 45 Minute My AK 240 open Up The sound quality , now With My 1+2 sound excellent
Before was less clarity .
I am very Happy now biggrin.gif

IMO

Hi Rudi,

If you want to charge the AK240 faster, use a higher mA. Something like 1,200mA should give you a faster charge.

I agree with you about the Roxanne. I heard it recently with the AK240 and the SQ was very good. At last year's Mook Festival, the Roxanne did not give me the "Wow" factor when I heard it with the AK120. I know it is a different DAP, but I was expecting more from the Roxanne. It just did not impress me. This time with the AK240, it got my attention :D

AK 240 With Fit Ear MH 335 DW Studio Reference was The best at Mook Show beside Roxanne
Fit Ear MH 335 DW SR is better than Roxannd

LCD XC is very good close headphone , the isolation is better than my TH 900
I hear beside my wife , she has not complain
If I use LCD 3 , your music make noise I can't sleep hahaha

I don't have alpha dog

Sig DJ isolation is better than LCD XC

IMO

I did too, it was good for me in a different way. I enjoyed seeing all those people having a good time and looking happy. It would be nice if we all got along considering whats happening in/to our world.

Hi all to all the owners of 240, just a very quick questions that has confused me quite a long time, I am wondering whether the line out of 240 bypasses the potentiometer for a cleaner path signal to an amplifier, or just set the volume to max by toggling the Line Out in setting. Thanks!

It important to me since for most of the time I use line out to drive large cans...

Yes, I'd like to know this too. I have a feeling the line out is not bypassing the potentiometer, but perhaps someone in the know can say for sure.

So last night I tried to connect my AK-240 to my iPhone 5s, tried 5-6 times to connect to it's wifi, no luck, anybody else having this issue?
Also in the setting menu, when I click on EQ, it only selects Pro, and add new. In the demo I watched, you could preset to Rock,Pop etc, etc. I have the latest firmware update.
