Sigh, not an option for me then. I assume there is no commercial software available to do the same?

@sutjahjo, nice pics of the AK240 and congrats. I like to hear the word "transparency" which matters the most to me.

Where did you buy it?

I doubt that this will change the impression of the SQ. SR-71B is a neutral powerhouse. What comes out of the source into that amp and out of the headphones will not sound any different in terms of SQ. When I bought my SR71b it was purely because of the need of power, the SQ is exactly the same.

I guess the comparison could be interesting if comparing headphones being driven balanced; AK120->SR71B->Balanced Headphones vs AK240->Balanced Headphones.

It's still comparing one source to another. If I had a pair of HE-6 and wanting to go portable this could be interesting...

Depends on the country, many places have it already.   Iriver said most countries would have it by Feb 19th, but it is not yet available in North America as far as I know.   Early March is the rumor for US and Canada.

With a regular Neutrik 3.5mm plug.

Anyway, today i have loaded DSD files. and... im really... really... officially poisoned.

so transparent, staging and imaging is hauntingly scary and musical.

I fact i find that DSD on the AK240 is a true performer. when i listen to .flac 16bit of the same song... gawd the 16bit is so so badddd. the contrast is so huge.

now i do really need to find ways to own this thing to serve not only as a portable, but also part of my home setup.

i did not. because they did not have a seat for me to audition for a good solid 30 minutes of auditioning, (back then, they used to have seats at their old location. but their new location do not have seats.. i only hope they bring the seats back)

I auditioned the AK240 at Headphone Buddy (https://www.facebook.com/YourHeadphoneBuddyAtSongBrothers?fref=ts) instead, at their Sim Lim Square branch (because they have a seat for me to rest my lower lumbar injury). I believe they will have another demo set at Funan as told by the representative.

I had a seat in Jaben while auditioning the AK240 for a solid 90minutes though.
