when is the ak240 gonna be released? any official release date?

I tried it for a short while with FAD Pandora Hope VI before I leave for work and I must say I am floored.

I thought you can't improve the sound quality of AK120 much but I was so wrong in some ways.

The sound is obviously clearer, smoother and more transparent. And I would say the biggest plus to me personally is the apparent increase in transparency.

Is it twice as good as AK120? probably not! But in the age where we look for the smallest improvement, the AK240 is an incredible DAP.

Attached are some photographs I shot.

Did you try with regular or balanced cable? When the SQ gets to this level, I'm really not sure how much more amazing the firmware can make it into. I'm more curious what surprise balanced output will bring me. *eagerly waits for balanced cable for IE800

Have you try DSD yet? It's clearer, smoother and more transparent to another level.

I would say for SQ wise ak120 is 7/10 ,ak240 is 8/10 and ak240(DSD) 9/10

Thanks, at the moment I have no DSD files other than those supplied with the unit. They sound incredible but I have no way of comparing with flac of the same songs.

So is this an A-B comparison with the same DSD file played back on AK120 using the same headphones/IEM? How about versus an AK120 with a good portable amp like the SR-71b? I assume you are listening out from the single-ended HO port of the AK240?

Is Groover+ only available for Korea only? My Ak240 don't have that option..
Change the time zone to a different ones such as Japanese / Korean etc.

Most likely you'll get different choices

Groovers

MQS music service provider "groovers" started with the launch of the AK100. With the AK240, you no longer need to go through the traditional process of purchasing and downloading music on your computer, now you can easily download MQS music directly from the AK240 via the groovers store link on the home page of the AK240. As long as you are in a Wi-Fi area, it is easy to download MQS music wherever you go.

groovers+ store is shown only if you set up Seoul as the time zone on the setting

More music stores will be available in the future.

You need the first generation  PS3 with an old firmware to rip SACD.
