PS:French charm would have also been an acceptable answer.

Off course French charm...how did I seduce aforementioned duck? Right now I am interested in the Hugo over the AK240 because at this stage, the Hugo is the only one that can truly best the 901 soundwise (I am just conjecturing, I have no idea).

I am not golden ears or anything. I know what sounds good to my ears, and so far, the X5 sounds really good with all my iems, and when switching back and forth with the 901, the difference is there, but not very significant.

Sorry for the OT, back to AK240.

No. There will be no Candy Crush on the X5.

I don´t know what Candy Crush is, but than we might expect a X7 with Wlan, FiiO seems to run after the Facts, instead of being in front.

Well if they manage to provide almost the same features for a fraction of the price than all power to them :-P

Sure, I like their products, but a bit Forward thinking can´t hurt, I guess

I probably wont buy X7 if all it adds is wifi only... not the most useful feature to me...

Most useless feature for me, no need to add complexity and lower battery life.

The upgrades should come on cleaner sound, more powerful amp section for example. Maybe balanced output?

Where can I find some information about the new Astell & Kern AK240? ;)

It depends, many People stream their Music and for example Wimp has a great Sound in HiFi mode, so it is only a matter of time that others will follow with true HiFi Sound,On my Galaxy Note 3, I have 215 Albums for playing offline, but of course I would like to have a more compact solution of high Quality, ok you can upgrade your phone or tablet with a FiiO E18, wich I don´t mind using on the Train for Long trips, but for everyday use I would like to have just one compact Player.

Same here, but I'm guessing we'll be seeing DAP-makers following suit.  Personally, I'd like to see a source-only player.  Forget out the hp amp part, concentrate on line-out implementation.  I know that is unlikely at best, however, but I can always hope.  I'd like to see a high-capacity (256GB minimum) player, with great DAC/line-out implementation & solid UI.  Without needing to account for amp section, smaller footprint could also be a nice side-benefit.  Of course, only to be lost by needing to add an amp, hahaha!!  That's why I know what I suggest kinda sorta doesn't make sense in the portable space.  Vinnie suggested such a device a while ago as well.

2.5mm balanced out... are you serious and in addition to it being a 2.5mm out we have to now buy an adapter

I guess for $2000+ another $50 isn not a big deal

I think the adaptor in the pic is just stupid.
And it terminates to two xlr s why who does this.
It should be a 4 pin xlr. And beyond that is the size really.

So someone who makes cables will just have to make us an adaptor
