For a nearly half a year i have had them and been using an ASUS Xonar Essence STX sound card, however i would prefer to have an amp as the sound is better. Probelm is i have no idea about good portable amps etc, i know a little about headphones but almost nothing about amps! I have looked in other threads for recommendations regarding the K702 however all of them seem to want a cheap amp, i however am after a pretty decent amp. Hell i would pay ~300$ if it meant superior sound, so with that in mind can anyone give a recommendation or suggestion?

Thanks in advance, i will reply to nearly everyone hear when i get a chance. (sorry about grammar)

Wait so do you want a portable amp or a desktop one. Cause your sound card is a pretty damn good one already.

Objective O2 may be DIY or built by JDS Labs (US) or Epiphany (UK) and can be used both at home and as a portable. JDS will do some degree of customization.

Sorry if i wasn't clear, i want a portable amp. I have used a my headphones with a  cheap FiiO amp and the sound IS better and it seems to me i lifts the bass up quite a bit, if there is one thing the k702 is lacking it is bass.

Why do you suggest the Objective O2?

It's powerful, versatile, portable, durable, and cheap, and it measures very well.

I wouldn't use the O2 as a portable amplifier.

If you are using an Android, I would suggest the FiiO E18, for iPhone/iPod, the E17. Or for a cheaper alternative, the E07K.

All have hardware EQ so you can tweak the bass to your needs.

Are there any notable differences, in sound quality, between the E18 vs E12? Or is the only difference Android v Apple? I ask because i don't use either.

Sorry, I meant the E17. The E18/17 are DAC/AMP's whereas the E12 is only an AMP. And yes, pretty much the only difference is with the E18 you can use (with supported phones) the USB output from the phone to the E18, well, and you get a little bit more power with the E18, but most portable cans don't need that much anyways.
