  hello to all

i dont know whether this is the right place to ask if its not the place please let me know and i will move it to appropriate place
i thinking of buying over the ear headfone for using it with the DX90, is there any recommendation, i usually listen to mix of JPOP,POP,OST, Instrumental

The requirement for the headfone are :
- Price around $400 USD
- Sound Signature simmilar to IE80 (Which im currently using)
- Can run directly from DX90 with out using any external amp

Thanks

Surya Halim

The Fischer Amps FA-4E XB is a fantastic IEM, but it goes for about 20% more @ around $520. However, I highly recommend it as it gives the highest tier IEMs a huge run for the money. I mean, it unseated the To Go 334 as my favorite at the time. It's not as bassy as the IE80 though, but what it loses in ultimate low end slam it more than makes up for in coherence across the rest of the frequency range. And from what I've read, make sure you get the newest update model, which is purported to have even better midrange.

Lets agree to disagree on that:)
I would recommend hearing things like Ref1,se846,jvc fx850,any top AT,not to mention customs before making a coment like that:wink:

FYI, I have heard all three, have owned two of the three, and still do one of them.

Are these them?

I am quietly interested is all.
In aid of not derailing this thread, is there any chance you might be able to pm me with some more details on sound etc?

I don't believe there will be anywhere I can audition them in Australia is all

I would recommend Yamaha HPH-MT220. Now only costs UKP99 from Amazon.co.uk

I've used the following with the DX90...

Sennheiser IE8
UM Merlin
Sennheiser HD25
Denon D7000

My favourite to use with the DX90 are the HD-25's as they seem to match really well. Super clear, detailed and awesome bass when it's there on the track. The HD-25's are the least expensive of the 4 but just shine. Hope you find your ideal match @suryahalim

Thanks you all for the input I will consider it. As of right now im more leaning towards Philips fidellio l2 or Sennheiser momentum over ear version
Thanks
Surya halim

I run the DT1350's directly from the DX90 and find them to be a great match as the 1350 shows off the clean treble and low end extension of the DX90 very well. Worth a listen.

I think Lurker stated that his only loads via the factory upgrade method. Connect as storage, drag and drop to root directory, then select upgrade from the dx90 inboard menu.

This method assumes firmware other than 2.0.0 is loaded in the DX90. Well I can't get 2.0.0 out of my DX90 no matter what I do. Batchtool loads and recognizes DX90 every time, but I get an error message when I try to open the firmware using batchtool. I downloaded every version of firmware after 2.0.0 and tried to open each, and same thing.

I can live with 2.0.0, I guess, but I wish everyone would shut up about how great the Lurker firmware is, makes me think I'm missing something. My fault for reading this thread I guess.

I wonder if I could send the DX90 out to get the latest firmware installed, but I am not going to pay to send this thing back to China. That should be a free service by iBasso if they are going to sell their product with this old firmware installed.

Everybody seems to like AK120 but its output impedance is still too high for my TG334s. I can always give the DX90 to my girlfriend because I can't seem to sell anything on this site.

Rant complete.

No. It worked OK for me. Just forget RKBatchTool and try to put update.img (not zip file with it!) to the DX90, then safely disconnect, then Settings->Advanced->System update.

I hope its Ref1:)
I just thought the Fisher Amps were a bit unbalanced, there was something not great coherence wise, but initially i was pretty taken with them too, later, comparing, it was pretty obvious, but i didnt keep them long to comment further, just remember there was something irritating about the sound sig, sounded like in a tunnel.
With the likes of the ref1, SE846,H8pro,UM,Roxanne etc iems have really gone a long way and i genuinely don't think FA are quite there.just my opinion of course, no offence intended
