Does that pic show that there is no grounding pin on the 90? My buddy is having a problem with his 50 not getting contact from that pin and we suspect its causing his player to freeze and pop. If they didnt put it on the 90, why not? I cant tell from the pic if there is something small there or not.

It shows the pin being relocated for better contact.

Someone in the dx50 thread moved his to where the dx90 pin is...

I think the silverish mesh underneath is the new design of grounding method. The back cover will have a nice ground once it slide in the gap.

The grounding pin is mainly to shield against EMI. Not having it should not cause freeze or pop, but more like EMI noise on the analog output path. If the PCB isn't particularly susceptible to EMI, then you can get away by not shielding it.

My mistake... Wasn't looking clearly.
It doesn't appear to have a pin.

And the mod done wasn't to relocate it, just protrude it more.

P.S. I'm talking S.Q. wise above all...
The DX90 paints a wide and deep soundstage that is well defined and dynamics that maintain their place and surprise in a good way. Frankly the DX90 stands on its own, the sound is that different and extremely well done.

The DX90 is a complete package.

Stop ducking the question

Nothing in this world stands on it's own - everything is relative!

So I still wanna know how the DX90 sounds relative to how the DX100 sounds!

i think jamato is playing us with his ridicule review of the 90, stop being such a pain and do a proper review , I think i wish that someone else got that Dx90 than jamato as he is not doing us a good by writing his experience so far
