Few more days and the DX90 is on the shelves, if they follow suit, we might be talking about having the player next week or latest the week after, then we can join @jamato8 to the sound quest! cool.gif

And you definitely wouldn't notice any sq differences too

I ordered my 128gb microSD card just for its arrival. Although it sounds like I am not going to get in on time if they stick to that date. The card disappeared from the Amazon website without any notice as to when they'll have it in stock. Nonetheless it should be an amazing spring listening experience smily_headphones1.gif

It really p1$$e$ me off that iBasso only implemented one memory slot, so the X5 looks like a better option for me

I dont think I'd be able to hear any difference - nothing where I can definitely exclude variations in SPL and listener bias, anyway.

And yeah, +1 about the single memory slot, b/c I prefer the UI of the DX50 a lot more than that of the X3 and would happily have gotten a DX50 with 2 card slots over a DX90 or X5.

With a single card slot, there is no reason for me to give up on an iDevice, as for critical listening, both will feed my 16/44.1 music into a DAC for critical listening (and I am not going to put hi-res music on a 64GB device).    And for casual listening, the direct feed from an iDevice is more than adequate.

Mehh!

iBasso don't need to worry about the AK480:

I am reliably informed that it has quad ES9018K2m implementation, balanced LO & HO, and 2x microSD card slots (which are visible in the above picture). Power output likely to be marginally higher than DX90, but not as high as DX100. I notice that the DX180 appears to be approximately 4-5mm thicker than the DX50/DX90, and that does make sense, given the extra chips, µSD slot, and, presumably, higher-capacity battery to handle the extra demand. Price expected to be sub-$1000, which sounds about right, given iBasso's tendency for excellent value-for-money.

Hahahaha :D. Those extra buttons .

Price it at $6000 and it will sound better than the AK480...

If the AK480 isn't actually an April fools joke, I wonder what their designer is doing. It is the worst looking DAP I have seen, even worse than the AK240 and X5 IMO.

Guess it can't be April fools after all because it hit the front page. I will wait for the AK960 which costs $10000 I think.
