Very true, unless you want the AK240.  :p

Well it's one thing you won't have to worry about, it'll be like the DX50 and the subject got discussed as nauseum so no fear here, the only thing needed to be discussed is the sound quality. wink.gif

So go ahead buy yourself the DX90 and save some money on selling your kidney lol smily_headphones1.gif

Tax season so save some money go get a player at an affordable price and use the extra cash to take the love of your life to many dinners and outings, that include to bring your player (the love of your life) with you. biggrin.gif

+1

It's a dream come true. Just thinking back two years there was nothing I wanted to get or nothing I could afford to get. Now there are great options for reasonable prices. It's just fabulous!

Mentioned it a few pages back, beginning of March seems to be their target date but how official is that, it is from their usual Q&A representative.

It said DSD capable, I interpret that it will not be native DSD...

Meaning ?

It will play dsd files as does the DX50 as from fw 1.2.8

Meaning it's coverted to PCM before being read as I understand it.

Not sure if they will or will not use the native DSD capability of the Saber ESS9018K2M DAC DSD native input ability. The only thing they'll need to do is to read the DSD encoded file properly and ship it to the DAC in a format it will recognize. Having the translation is always the easy way out. Thinking that they have most likely some beta units ready and with the newly released DX50 firmware incorporating DSD format, my feeling is that they have most likely gone the converted way.

jamato said something about processor chip needs to be able to handle DSD too...not sure if this will be upgraded as well for dx90... but I have less than 30 DSF/DFF/ISO albums so I can always convert them back to 24/88 flac..
