There are better iems for the price.Westone w40,heir 4ai,dunu dn2000,fischer amps fa-4 e,asg2.The 535 have lush, engaging mids, are musical but lack detail, transparency and bass quantity(not quality). In your place i would save up another $150 and get sennheiser ie800 or one of the aforementioned.

I just picked up two of these. Hoping for Japan batteries to see what all of the fuss is about.

Noble 4 or JH Audio JH5. Depends on if you like it slightly warm or leaner with a touch of extra sparkle on top.

Personally, finding Westone W40 a great match.

One thing I really want is good sound isolation.. That's why was leaning to shure again.. Do these have good isolation?

Customs, deep inserted multi flange tips or Shure olive tips are the best for isolation IMO. I don't find other foam as good as Olives.

Yeap, I own 535ltd-J and 846....isolation shure is good. 535 definitely will less bass compare to 215, vocal killer and brighter but lack of high.

A shot in the dark but I just reviewed the new Nuforce primo 8 and I can assure you they match extremely well with the DX90. Isolation is the best out of all my phones. .The FX850 sounds amazing on the DX850 but isolation will not be as good.  If you go to the primo8 thread Tomscy2000 did a review and I believe he mentions how he found the Nuforce to his liking over the W40.

Here is his link to his review comparing it to the W40 and W50.. http://cymbacavum.com/2014/06/16/nuforce-primo-8-a-leapfrog-to-the-top/3/

Fx 850 seem to be bass heavy?

Yes but the bass is really enjoyable I would call it high quality bass. It is has full authority in all regions of sound one of the boldest full wide stage sounding in ears which make them extremely enjoyable and a solid all rounder.. Primo8 is a bit mid forward neutral sound with less bass emphasis wicked sense of space and detail, more of a reference type sound.

Windows 7 64bit USB DAC - Initial Impressions

well I have to say Im super impressed with the DX90 DAC function !

Once I got round the unsigned driver malarky the driver appeared in foobar so I dragged and dropped

a 1TB drive's worth of 24/96 - 24/192 audio into foobar from a USB connected drive and well... it all seems

to work perfectly. Audio playback is instant, even the 24/192 files. Even skipping forward along the timeline of a song is very quick with only the tiniest delay

For those with more familiarity it might make you laugh but I didn't realise that the audio from the WHOLE

of my PC seemed to route itself through the DX90 (I thought only the foobar would be effected) Never

heard uTube sounding so good!

Anyway, colour me happy & impressed

:D

and thanks to iBasso for releasing an early version to try

So is there a one second delay? I have read this but am not sure what this refers to.

Hello,

I'm a complete audiophile noob.  I just got the DX90, and it has firmware 2.0.0.  Sorry if I'm asking something that has already been answered; I've searched but didn't find the answer.

I am using a Macbook Pro and so far have only downloaded audio from HDTracks.

I haven't gotten a microSD card yet, but when I do, will it be better to plug the microSD card in my Mac and transfer files that way, or insert microSD card in DX90, plug DX90 into my Mac via USB then transfer that way?

Do I need to format anything specifically for Mac?

Thanks in advance
