DX90 have very good DAC, so I have not any idea for what I use Coax Out.
By way of contrast Caox In is extremly usefull - CD/DVD/HDD players, TV, game sound cards (too with Dolby Headphones), high quality usb to spdif adapters and more, more, more other.
I want DX90 rev.2 with Coax In biggrin.gif

Why do you need a Coax in? Are you going to feed DX50 or X3 to DX90?

No. It was written in my first message - For home usage as DAC (with headamp) to my CD/DVD player, TV and SPDIF from my gaming sound card. DX90 have better DAC, then my other devices and I love this sound.

I run mine plugged all the time, while at home. It gets slightly warm but that is about it.

Wouldn't that be bad for the battery?

Excessive heat can shorten battery life yes, but i think when the DX90 get warm, the temperature is not that high to cause noticeable deterioration in battery life to my understanding.. well at least not for me (electrical experts please correct me if wrong)

2 months in and the battery is still good for me so far (fingers crossed)

But hey, at least it's easy to replace the battery since there are just loads of Samsung galaxy 3 batteries available out there.

Is there sample rate mode(gives you options to choose sample rate?) option like DX100?

Coax out is incredibly useful - it makes the DX90 or DX50 into a digital transport.  I use DX50 all the time this way to play music through my home speaker system, through my Luxman DAC.

Dx90 behaving a bit better, able to charge) but battery life is a bit disappointing),sometimes it shows on my pc as an external drive, sometimes not, must be something I'm doing wrong in settings, but I can't figure it out.

dx90 mp3 (320kbps 16/44.1) playback: 8.5hrs

dx90 flac (level 6, 16/44.1) playback: 4.5

Rough figures with phonak 232 at normal volumes and no browsing or other activity in between

You'reScaringMe, so am I being evil to extrapolate that 24/96Hz FLAC Level 8 playback might be ~2.5 hrs??.

Lol, I remember some random person sent me a PM which read:

BOOOOOOOOOOO!

No, I've tried Hi res files, 24/192, and it wasn't much worse. Difference between MP3 and FLAC is big though.

With flac files, 0 level compression, without any extended browsing during playback, with my 121 db sensitivity and 16 ohms impedance CIEMs at low gain at around 180 of volume I got almost 8h and 30 min.

That's because the processor doesn't have to expend much energy (battery) de-compressing your 0 Compression Level Flacs, but that defeats the whole purpose of Flac which is smaller file sizes.
