When I first downloaded the newest FW, I "knew" I liked the first FW better, much better. . . . Then I downloaded the new FW again to give it another run. . . . I am fine with the latest. Spacious, great mids, layering and bass. So it goes. And I really like the tweaks to the UI. I have no issues at all. Ultra fast response, listening to OTG right now via my micro card holder so I have 190gb of memory with a 128gb and a 62gb or you could go with 2 128gb for 256gb of memory or just use the slot for whatever. The DX90 scans so fast now that inserted a new card is no hassle and a very, very short wait.

I always try to get FW from direct links. I've noticed subtle changes in top quality music files stored in clouds. They play fine but not quite the same. 24/192 file when up and then downloaded wasn't quite as good as the 24/96 direct though it was better before. Blind tested by 3 of us. Found this out when a master was transferred and thought to not be done correctly by the other party that had a hard transfer 24/96. We did same up and download and agreed on the compromised result. Original 24/192 from analog dub was best but not after being transferred in that method.

Has anyone heard an ETA from iBasso on the 64-bit DAC driver release yet?

When I asked them they said they said they had to get the rights from Microsoft. No idea how long that takes.

Appreciate the reply.  Chomping at the bit to sell my Dragonfly and use the DX90 at work instead

Do you think we can get the driver from ibasso in advance and install it by disabling the driver signature check?

So the file size and properties remain the same, but you hear a difference? That is just about as crazy as me being able to hear a difference between SD cards! I've found that older and thus lower capacity SD cards made on less dense Nand memory to sound better than the newer SD cards with very small Nand process technology. For example I have a Toshiba 16gb card made on 45 nanometer memory that sounds more refined and spacious than a Samsung 64gb card made on 15 nanometer memory. Sounds crazy,  I know there is the argument about digital data transfer methods should sound identical, but anyone who has compared an optical cable to a coaxial cable knows there is a difference in sound, even if both are digital data transfer methods!

You guys really enjoy making audiophiles' lives difficult...

So I'm crazy because I have Golden Ears and hear things other can't? I can hear differences between sd cards, batteries, and sometimes I can even hear a voice inside my head that whispers to me what to do, I swear Its because I just have very good ears :D

No, no you're not crazy at all.

Now why don't you just relax, set your DX to continuous loop, and put on this comfy jacket and come chill out in our nice padded ...um, I mean audio treated room. What? No the arms are supposed to be extra long with dangly straps on the ends. I'll see if I can find some more jackets for your friends, the voices, too.

So you are either the Superman of the audiophile world or one of the original "One flew over the cuckoo's nest". biggrin.gif
