No, maybe sometime in the future.

I haven't read of anyone using the USB function for just music form the PC. Any Windows users using the USB dac function?

Is it possible to use the DAC function on the iBasso DX90 to listen to music (stored on my laptop or network connected via USB to the DX90) on the DX90? Or is the DX90 DAC function only usable as a passthrough i.e. the DX90 player function is not available when the DX90 is being used as a DAC?

Apologies for the convoluted question:-(

The DAC function is to listen to music on your Windows based device using Widows to play the music, passing it to the DX90, using the dacs in the DX90 and on to your headphones, via the internal amp of the dX90 or line out of the DX90 to an amp > headphones.

Ok, so I downloaded the new firmware and the new driver to use the DX90 as a DAC. However, I have no idea how to actually use my DX90 as a DAC. I use Spotify. When I play Spotify on my Windows PC how do I pass that music through my DX90 to my headphones? I connect the DX90 to my PC via USB, correct? Then what? When I play Spotify right now it doesn't pass the music via the USB cable to my DX90. The music is still coming out of the speakers/headphone jack.

Do I need to pass the music to my DX90 by hooking a cable from the headphone jack into my DX90 too?

Thanks:-) That is why people have mentioned using Foobar or similar as a player.

And we have liftoff. The DX90 works as a DAC:-) Just installed Foobar on my Win 7 32bit laptop, linked it to my music location on my network, pressed play and off it went - playing via the DX90. The vol controls on the DX90 work.

pachoo5, you have to select the DX90 as a standard device in your Windows sound setting via the control panel. At least that's what I suspect, I have 64-bit so no dac for me yet.

Ok, thanks. That is what I suspected. The driver isn't installing for me either because I am running a 64 bit OS so that explains why. I hope they come out with the 64 bit drivers soon.

I did not have to do as per pauldgroot's suggestion here: things were easier:-). When I connected the DX90, having installed the driver on my laptop, Windows installed the DAC as an iBasso Mango HiFi Audio Device. I see it listed under Control Panel/Sound/Manage Audio/Devices/

I'm happily listening to Christy Baron's album "I Thought About You" via Foobar networked to a USB drive hanging off a Wandboard on my network.

Hello All,

When I use the line out on my DX90 and go through my Matrix M stage headphone amp do I turn the volume all the way up on the DX90 and then control the volume manually on the Matrix? Or do I have the volume half way up on the DX90? And what should I have the HP gain set to? I would think the gain on the matrix would control this?

Regards,

Jeff

When using line out the gain setting has no effect. Max the volume on the DX and control with your external amp unless that gives you to little control room on the amp in which case you can lower the DX90 volume
