Mine is at home!! Can't wait to go home tonight and play around with it :D.

Mine just arrived. No time to listen yet (damn kids) but I figured I'd do a quick side-by-side of the DX50 and the DX90 booting and scanning

DX50: 1:12 for scanning 60gigs of flac, DX90 did it in 1:14. Looks like full card scans are about the same on them both.

For some reason my DX90 went to Heathrow rather than Gatwick, so there was an extra step in delivery. I should have it today.

Mine has just shipped! (ordered yesterday) Which SD card do you recommend to use with the DX90?

Both don't stop playback.

I'm nearer to Heathrow than Gatwick, but mine has also just arrived at Gatwick (from Heathrow via East Midlands ) ;-)  Glad I'm not paying petrol on this journey round UK!

Oh damn this is good. 24/192 playback is certainly not an issue and this little player has brought new life into my HD595 that were just gathering dust. I wonder how it's going to sound with an amp, say, perhaps a PB2 with topkit? :D

This DAP is just phenomenal, will post more impressions as I get more listening time!

Not a good start for iBasso..... Both screen protectors are utter crap. One was disgustingly scratched all over, the other was a pain in the arse, and the bit you pull off left sticky stuff on the protector. Not good.

It also refuses to do anything with my micro SD card... I'm getting the weirdest sense of déjà vu....

Mine just worked, with the MicoSD card that just worked in my DX50. In the video I posted you can actually see the very first scanning it does on that card.

Yeah I watched it. The reason it bothers me is that the DX50 didn't have any problems with it (except when it first came out) - and it means more time wasted trying to figure out the problem.

It sounds great, however.

jamato8, many thanks for your original review and for all the info and helpful descriptions about the DX90. Without them I'd never have bought one, and I'd certainly have missed out. Mine was delivered by DHL in Ireland at 10:30 BST this morning, after a fine trip via Delhi, Leipzig, East Midlands UK. The scenic trip appears to have done nothing but good> A bit of tension now and again is good for us all.

Well done iBasso: the DX90 is a great unit, beautifully contructed, nice and solid. I first listened to the Linn's Super Audio Collection Volume 4 sampler. There''s some lovely music on that. It's nice and varied with some folk, jazz and classical tunes. I was delighted. More details later when I get a chance.

Well done DHL for getting the DX90 here in good time, all things being considered. Thanks also for and for giving my heart aworkout.

all the best,

depaor :-)

Not going to crack it open. Yet.

Detail retrieval is clearly better than the DX50, as is imaging and layering. Color me impressed - very, very impressed. Everything is in it's right place and it's amazingly easy to just pick out the different elements of the sound. It sounds soooo clear, so very realistic. I don't have a DX100 handy for a direct comparison but I'll do my best to borrow one soon so I can do a direct shootout.

(This is using the PB2, so I'm only comparing the DAC sections here, not the amps.)

Is the soundstage noticeably wider to you Soron than DX50 ? By a lot or a little?

Thanks
