If you're going to post, it might as well be impressions! :D

I just ordered a dx90. The website said it will ship within 2 business days. Is this still batch 1, they aren't sold out yet until next batch?

My bad. It says "Express Shipping with Tracking". I thought it said EMS Shipping with Tracking.

And further impressions?

The separation and soundstage are very promising.

This makes a big difference when listening to some classical pieces.

Also I notice that the difference between normal cd-rip music and high resolution music is more obvious.

Is it the magic of dual chips?

I received a confirmation from paypal on the day it was released, but as of now, still no tracking, or any other information from iBasso. Is it totally unlikely I'll have it by Friday?

The sabre dac and using two of them.

For classical, to my ear, this dap really excels and that is often hard to do with the complexities that come from this type of music when done on a large piece.

I highly recommend the Samsung Pro microSDXC UHS-I Class 10 (MB-MGCGBB/AM series) memory cards. And that 3-pack from Adorama is a good deal...and they are a good seller.

I've had one of my Sandisk ULTRA 64GB microSDXC cards completely fail and lost all data on the card. None of the 3 data-recovery programs I had could recovery any files...it was completely corrupted and would not mount or reformat. Luckily, I did keep a backup of the data on that card, so no great loss, but if I hadn't made a previous backup, I would have lost very important/irreplaceable files. To SanDisk's credit, the microSDXC card was replaced for free under warranty. FYI, the Samsung Pro cards have a 10-year warranty (longer than you will likely keep/use the card I'd imagine).

Both cards are used in my Samsung Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100) and Galaxy Note 8.0 (GT-N5100). The Samsung Pro microSDXC cards are notibly faster than the Sandisk ULTRA. However, the Sandisk EXTREME 64GB microSDXC cards ARE a bit faster than the Samsung Pro. I'm sticking with the Samsung Pro cards for reliability. No issues so far. wink.gif Just my .02

I'm resisting the urge to order the DX-90...don't know how much longer I can hold out, but will try to wait for further impressions.

Any chance that the DX-90 will drive the Beyerdynamic T1 decently???

Hi, jamato8! What complex classical music did you listen to on the DX90? Was it chamber music (string quartets, quintets, trios) or large scale orchestral music (e.g. symphonies by Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Mahler, Bruckner etc.)? Care to share more details about how it excels in terms of details, soundstage, separation etc.? Thanks!

And does the gapless work seamlessly when moving from the file for one movement of a classical piece to that for the next movement (e.g. from the 3rd movement to the 4th movement/finale of Beethoven's 5th symphony)?

I wonder how many are now dancing the old F5 dance...

Very happy to hear about the superb resolution and layering from the DX90. I recently got a topkit for my PB2, making it even better and more resolving. With an improved source it's going to be a beast of a stack for feeding my K10!

Can't. Friggin. Wait.

OT (but since everyone is still waiting for the 90, what the hell).

Søren, what did you go with for the PB2 topkit?
