This is great news. This is one of the few remaining 'flaws' of the DX50 in my mind. I use the DX50 with an amp, so I never really experienced the volume glitch, and apart from that it seems to work fantastically. Just waiting a week or so now...

I hope they open up the web ordering portal earlier than the 7th.. not like it would be any difference except save my F5 key.....

On a more serious note, those sure are some high praises from Jamato!

More time but the DX90 is very layered with excellent dynamics specific to where they originate.

So, based on your initial impression, do you think the DX90 is enough of a step up from the DX50 to get?  I know it's a subjective question, but I am interested in your opinion.

I have to revert the 901 to the 1.084 FW as the 1.085 sounds off so comparisons right now aren't real valid. With the latest FW of the 901 I prefer the DX90. But again. I have to go back to 1.084.

According to a recent Korea-based poster in the Calyx M thread, a bug has been identifiedby Calyx in the ES9018K2M chip. He says he was told so by an employee of Calyx, but will say no more. Any thoughts? I don't know anything about DAC chips, but I thought it might be of interest since the DX90 is using the same chip.

It seems to sound great from what Jamato says, so no need to worry.

It's more out of curiosity than worry, but his comments so far a very promising.

First, I would need to get some facts in order to understand and believe that this is a bug. I am pretty sure the chip manufacturer has a solid QC process and it is not in their advantage to release buggy chips to the general public, granted that the chip is new. I am pretty sure they have a relationship with the chip manufacturer and there are processes in place to deal with the issue if it is there.
