Is the weight the same as the DX50s or is it heavier??? Seem the latter is mo' likely due to differences of the internals???

Oh and most importantly how much it the unit or was yours a review sample???

Basically the same weight, still feels light and enjoyable to pack around or to use while sitting down. I tried some different amps and then said to myself, "why", the internal amp is that good.

When you use USB OTG function with meenova+micro sd card, does unit gets hotter than usual? Also how much it affects the battery life? What is the usual battery life and what is the battery life when USB OTG is in use?

I am would be so happy if you could answer those questions, it will help me to choose DX90 or keep on saving and waiting for something that checks more boxes in my list.

It gets a little warmer but I wouldn't say it gets hot. Of course the run time is reduced but I enjoy using the meenova. I would guess the run time is around 7 hours. Without it around 9 to eleven but I have been using my TH900, and while they aren't a hard drive, they do take more current than many portable headphones. I also used the silicon case with my 4400mA batter and get exception time with the Meenova. Man, the DX90 is just so good. Actually I didn't think things would be so well defined. It truly has a musical sound all to itself, in complement of the music and not detracting from it.

How did you manage to get your hands on a DX90? Is the screen the same as the DX50?

Same screen, review sample. Very fast response.

Well, different dacs and so on. I have an X5. The DX90 performs as well as or a little better than the DX100, to me, it is one of the top daps and outdistances my modified AK100 in all areas.

Just saw that you have an HM-901 Jamato, how does it compare to that? You say it performs as well as or a little better than the DX100 - so I think it'd be interesting to know how it compares to the 901.

Thee is power in reserve and even with complex music, the sound field does not collapse.

This little DAP is truly a music player in the highest regard. The new jacks are the best I have used, exceptional grip and perfect for mobile use. The screen is very responsive and scanning of a full 64gb card is relatively fast, a few minutes for the card. You can use the DX90 as a dac via the USB and with the OTG I am able to use a 128gb in the Micro slot and that or whatever I choose, giving me 256gb of music and on and on. What a joy this player is!

Oh, the signal to noise ratio is now rated at 119.

Ah you bloody bandit, you got a DX90, I thought you did. Now you make me collect my money and wait, that's exactly how I thought it would be. Damn, I am going to get poor staying on this board. frown.gif

So buddy no amp needed right, and the music out the amp using the Sabre is sweet correct. So jeleous frown.gif

Well one good consolation, April 7 is going to be around the corner. You're buying one, right? beerchug.gif

How good is the USB implementation? Have you compared the SQ between the same track played straight from the player and fed through USB from computer?

If we were to get extra batteries that fits (or ones that have more juice), what do i need to search on google? :p

Does the pack come with the silicon case or do i need to buy them myself?

Also, it takes microSD cards right? :p

I know you said there is no amp needed but I know you have an intruder like I do, how did it sound with it? Not that I think I would necessarily use it on commutes but on a desk, does it create great synergy with the DACs LO?

@jamato8

Can you tell us if there is any drop in sound quality when the battery is low?

Comparison of SQ / SS to DX100, please, Jamato?

I haven't had a chance yet.

I use Anker batteries. I got some on ebay from Anker, in 4400uA as they pay the shipping, and a couple of the Anker batteries on Amazon.com in 2200uA. They have all worked fine and you get the charger with them.

I haven't heard any but it would seem to go from and full battery to a low one there should be a difference.
