never happened to me on both HO and LO. Granted I seldom touch the volume once I got the right level for me. The lock switch is on all the time when it's in my pocket or bag. I just listen to music for hours. I listen by albums so I could listen for a long time without touching the DAP for hours.

This volume spike issue has never happened to me on the DX100 in two years of extensive use, and I have never heard anyone reporting this problem with the DX100, so I think it's fair to assume this is only DX50 related, and probably only because of some corrupted file and or a hole in the FW programming.

Different CPU on the DX90 so the programming for most of the system is new. I still find it impressive to have everything inside of the DX90 that is there. Plenty of power for most applications and a R and L dedicated sac and on down the line. DAP's have come a long ways some going way up in price and some, like the DX50 and 90 giving a huge bang for the buck.

I think I read from the Calyx M thread that the DX90 will cost 419USD? can someone confirm please?

I hope the iBasso servers will be able to handle the traffic when it's released!

Depends on whether you like a colored (X5) sound or a neutral (DX90) sound, I would assume. We'll have to wait until the DX90 is actually released though.

To me, I turned away from the X5 on seeing the spin wheel and buttons design... looks flimsy and easy to break/malfunction

I too was turned off by that aesthetics of the x5 but to be fair the built is very robust and materials used does not feel cheap or flimsy at all. I wonder if the casing material for dx90 would be better than the dx50 as the dx50 can be quite easily scratched...

Use the silicon case for the DX90 that also doubles to hold a 4400mA battery in place.

I wouldn't call the X5 coloured, a bit brightly lit, but quite true to source.

I hope the X90 sounds like my MDAC!
