I know, Beats again. But can someone help me authenticate?

Ok so I bought these last night for $100 off Craigslist. I've been in need of some new noise canceling headphones so I went for it. They only came with the 1/8" cable, no box. He said to took the sticker off with the serial number and signature. Long time ago. They sound good, the bass seems a little distorted but that's only then I have the volume up too high. Any help would be appreciated.

They are real ones. Make sure you have new batteries in there. I'd opt NiMH ones.

How can you tell if you don't mind me asking?

I had my doubts because of the cable. I'm just not familiar with these.

There isn't really a big difference between a quality pair of fakes and a real set, sound-wise - if they don't sound horrible, you probably have a real set or a fake set close enough you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

I also second changing the batteries - the inline amp may just be underpowered by a set of near-dead batteries.

Probably stolen, but too late now.
