That's some expensive gear for such a basic question. Yes, it is possible. The Cambridge has outputs, the Hifiman has inputs. Connect them with cables and you are good to go.

yes I am trying to learn how everything works still, I usually have a friend that helps me out with this stuff but hes on a long holiday now. cant contact him on Skype yet. anyway I think I do need a different RCA cable for this.. the plug on mine seems to be too long.. cant plug them in the outs. I tried it on an old 550c from the friend I was talking about.

Hmmm... All RCA cables should be the same in terms of connector size. You might want to gently but firmly push harder. I have a hard time getting the RCA all the way onto my amp sometimes.

The cable I normally use has the two left / right plugs for my amp but only has one other plug. I usually use this with my Ibasso DX100 and just put it in the line out. I think I just have to buy another cable.

Yeah I can plug in the left / right but I cant plug in the other 2 connectors. theyre too long. they're missing the rings around them to make them fit.

fonna,

Are you using RCA or XLR cable to connect your HE-6 to the Cambridge 851C? To my mind HE-6 is only equipped with XLR cable..

Does 851C has enough power to drive HE-6?

You could post here photos of your cable terminations, so that people who have HE models (definately not me) could help you further.

Yeah, that sounds like it might be the wrong kind of cable. You can get some quality, cheap RCA cables from Monoprice. There should just be two wires -- connecting white on the DAC to white on the amp, and red on the DAC to red on the amp. Four total connectors.

I think you misread a little  I have the EF-6, it's the hifiman headphone amp. the headphone I am currently using is the Fostex TH-900.
