CMSS-esque effect for USB DAC?

I have come to really like the CMSS effect on Creative soundcards for certain genres. It makes it sound like the audio source is speakers in front of you, instead of in your head, which works really well for poorly mastered material and movies/tv. But when using a USB DAC, the effect is gone. I am wondering if there is a software emulation of this effect that can be used with a USB DAC.

You have two options, you can either use a X-FI card and send CMSS3D headphone thru optical into the external dac amp, or do it thru What yo hear method if the usb dac doesn't have optical.   Then there is Razer surround software which isnt perfect which you can use .
