Will I need an amp with Sennheiser HD 380 Pro?

I plan on buying the Sennheiser HD 380 Pro for video editing, recording and general use on my computer (music and some high-end gaming) and I'm wondering if picking up a headphone amp would give me any boost in audio quality. The 380 Pro has 54 ohms of impedance, so from what I understand they should run decently on low power sources, but at 54 ohms would an amp help? The Schiit Magni caught my eye as a great little amp for someone picking up their first good setup. I will mostly be using my editing desktop which uses an ASUS Z87 Gryphon motherboard which seems to have fairly good on-board audio.

You could try the Asus Xonar DG sound card, $27 and there is a $10 mail in rebate this month.

Or spend $60 for a Sound Blaster Z (OEM) sound card.
