I am a total n00b. I've been a short term lurker here and haven't found any help that truly fits me. I want to go semi-high end but price is a concern as I am still quite young, but am capable of making some cash. I am a gamer, and game a lot. I like to hear heavy bass, but I don't want it to drown out the mids and highs. I listen to a very wide range of music (almost all except hip hop and rap. a little ironic.) so a *fairly* flat sound would be best for me, because I don't have time to EQ after every song. Amps are not an option for me, currently, as mentioned before I'm quite young and don't have a steady income. I also use VoIP quite a bit, so an attached or attachable mic is a big plus, but I can get a dedicated mic if needed. Fashion is also a factor. I'm thinking of doing streaming in the future, and I worry about my appearance a lot in public, and comfort is a must as I have headphones on for hours at a time, usually around 4, but it can escalate to 8 when I'm bored and have a day off. The "cans" I've chosen are: V-Moda Crossfade LP w/ BoomPro mic OR V-Moda Crossfade M-100 w/ BoomPro mic, Skullcandy SLYR, or Audio Technica ATH-M50. My price range is $50 - $150, but if something is absolutely amazing, or frequently has sales that drop it into my price range, them I'm game for them. Like I said, I've never had high end cans before (except hearing some v-modas before, bit of inspiration from those in my list) and these headphones may not even be good at all. I need help choosing or finding a new set to buy. Other candidates are Razer Krakens, and anything you guys recommend! Remember, these are my go to headphones/sets, and they must last me a while, be durable and meet the criteria stated above. Thank you audiophiles alike!
