Possible mod for HE-series?

Hey, I recently ordered the HE-400's that were on sale. While waiting impatiently to go back home and pick them up from the postage, I had considered a possible headphone mod for the HE series. Is it possible to replace the Hifiman headband, yoke, blocks etc. with the one from Audeze for the LCD's: http://www.audeze.com/products/accessories/headband-assembly

Has anyone ever considered doing this before? And if so, did it work or not, and why? I've heard about the barely-padded headband for the HE-series, and well as the plastic piece with the logo on the side falling of due to crummy construction. If this improves the durability and comfort, I would buy this in a heartbeat!

Cup sizes are different. The audeze are bigger.

The problem with planars regarding comfort is usually weight. Audeze and Hifiman are heavy in comparison with dynamic headphones. You could try bending the yokes and post the results.

I would love to take the dive and try this out, however, as a teen on a tight budget, I'd rather not risk the money unless if it works for sure. I will if they break on me or the comfort level is really bad, but otherwise it's a no-go until proven effective. Still, if anyone is willing to DIY it, I would love to see the results! This, and the mango wood cups (darker stain) would look absolutely beautiful. http://www.head-fi.org/t/680521/hifiman-mango-tree-wood-cups-fit-he-300-he-400-he-500-he-4-he-6-and-le-series
