Can't really, talk for the e07k, haven't used one.
There may be a burn in time, use it for a while let all the components settle in.
I love the volume wheel and functions of the buttons at the bottom. But with the inability to charge my iPod, the humming with bass boost on, and the fact if you bump the micro connector at all, it just disconnects. You hear some fizzes, just brushing on it. Gonna use a 10cm cable and see if that changes my situation.
Get some CRC, Co contact cleaner, spray the plugs only, this had fixed intermittent contact plug issues for me, also a little bit of deoxite on the plug after will improve plug contacts heaps.
The analog volume wheel is heaps better than a digital button.
It's really close to being a great product...maybe if I had a galaxy s5, (was thinking about getting one) the e18 may be worth it to keep. But I still can't use bass boost, the tone is loud enough to be prevelant on both my headphones and IEMs.
I will not use any crapple products, they look great but get crippled in a walled garden. So I can't comment on that. I think the cck connecter is designed for feeding power not charging the phone.
However, someone who knows more on that fact may let us know?
I do remember apple iphone4 being very picky on chargers. And with good cause as well.
It may be time to look at a s4 (great phone),, or an s5.
Yeah I don't quite understand why the bass boost is there it should be called the annoying tone switch.
I don't like the changes to the sound, so there's no great loss.
Good news is usb audio pro now has an equaliser to fix any pitfalls in the sound.
Also, the line-out bypasses the dac and/or amp, is that normal?
