Philips Fidelio X1, lightly modded, great condition. Free shipping within Europe!
Will Ship To: Anywhere
Up for sale is my Philips Fidelio X1 in great condition. I've bought these in March 2013 (first owner). They have maybe 200 hours of use, all of it indoors in a smoke- and pet-free environment.
I've enjoyed these cans immensely and they're the among the very few bass-heavy 'phones I can actually recommend. These are not simple basshead 'phones with some treble, but actually offer a well-balanced presentation. The only reason I'm letting them go is the urge to try something new.
This pair has been modded to slightly reduce the bass and make it more controlled. To do so I have inserted pieces of cotton into the earcups, as seen in this picture:
The effect of the mod is marginal - it does not change the character of the 'phones at all, but it does very slightly tame the bass which can otherwise be overpowering with certain tracks. The mod is fully reversible. I can remove it if the buyer wishes, although I don't recommend doing so, as the mod - in my opionion - improves these already great headphones.
Overall condition of the X1 is very good, rating 8 or 9 out of ten. No scratches, dents or paint chipping.
On request I'll throw in a free 3m Cordial cable with a 3.5mm termination. This is very useful as the stock cable only has a 6.3mm plug.
Shipping within Europe is free (registered mail with insurance and tracking). International shipping is possible but costs extra, please inquire for an exact quote.
EU buyers please note: As Switzerland is not in the EU, you will have to pay import tax which depend on the country you live in. Please take this into account before agreeing to buy this item.
Local pickup is possible as well of course and comes with a discount.
If you have anything to trade let me know, possibly I'm interested. The only thing I'm actually looking for right now is a Rega Exact cartridge, but feel free to offer anything else.
I accept payment by PayPal or wire transfer. Within Europe, a wire transfer is strongly preferred (no fees!).
When using PayPal, the fees are to be paid by the buyer.
If you should have any questions, please feel free to ask, I'll be happy to answer them.
