Good day Head-Fi! I'm a new member so I apologize in advance for being inexperienced and for asking a lot of questions.

I am currently searching for good headphones under $80. I live in Ontario, Canada, so finding a good pair might be harder because of the insane markup :p . The headphones that I would find ideal would be warm sounding, well detailed mids and highs while having punchy yet controlled, non-overpowering bass. Furthermore, the headphones should isolate noise enough to protect my ears from drumming. I am currently looking into these headphones.

Sony MDR V55
Sennheiser HD 306 Pro

Sony ZX-600
Audio Tecnica ATH-M30
Sennheiser HD 202
Sennehiser CX 300

Shure SRH 240

Klipsch S4

These are currently on my to buy list but I can only buy one of these. Your opinions would be gladly appreciated as well :)

Thanks in advance and sorry for being inexperienced :p

Look at getting the SE215 from Canada computers. Great isolation especially for drumming.

How well do the SE215's fare against the S4's? I might consider these IEM's I've heard great things about these, but the appear to be a tad bit out of my price range :'(

I have the S4s and they are decent but I wouldn't say the best for $80. The over ear fit for drumming would be better the 215 has nice mids and a fair amount of bass.

Over budget but worth saying: The westone 3 are on sale for only $159 which is the lowest seen ever, definately worth $60 over the SE215.

I'll see if I can bump my budget up to $100 thanks for the advice! Never heard about the Westone 3's, how good do they sound?

Wish I could tell you, getting them as an xmas present. Westone is pretty highly respected around here, look up reviews there's quite a bit.

The W3 are known as the 'fun' IEMs.

Comes with all this stuff and according to CNET the mids are buttery, that's a really tempting offer. The MSRP is so high and it's on sale for 159? This might be another consideration if I can stress the budget a bit more. Also didn't intend to shop online :p

Unfortunately its on amazon.com, I am from Ontario as well they do ship with AmazonGlobal but that means taxes, shipping and duties :/ although still a good deal.

Its on for much a low price because they are now coming out with the W30 which are their new version, they sound the same just a newer model.

Seems like an interesting pair they do look nice and probably sound nice too, I've used the JVC Flats and HA FR201 and loved the sound, especially for the price. Can I only buy these headphones by importing them? Also wanted the dual driver IEMS but seemed quite pricey.

I guess in Japan the customers like to buy something that is not a export model that is mass marketed all over the world. I guess they prefer something "special".

I have the JVC HA-S500-Z (GunMetal Gray) headphones, that color is only sold in Japan.

Shipping took a week (California).

Part of me want to upgrade to the HA-S680s.

JVC exports get pretty good reviews they seem really expensive. I have to pay shipping+handling fees plus Tax which is 13% here so I guess importing is out of the question :'(

The price usually includes shipping +handling fees.

If the seller declares a low value, you can get a lower amount of tax
