Lyr Amplifier for Senn. 600's

Thread Starter

Hi, I have joined Head fi after a year of reading about headphones and hp amplifiers.

I have owned Senn. 600"s for a long time but didn't play them much. I have a Creek-OBH-11SE.

I use a Rega Apollo with Cardas neutral  interconnects.

My living situation has changed and I would like to use my headphones more often, and I would like

to try a tubed sound. I have not heard any tubed hp amps. Just read a lot of reviews on this sight and

Inner Fidelity,etc.

Questions:

Would a Schitt Lyr be a good match with the 600's or just stay with the Creek?

I don't listen at high levels.

Music: Calm jazz, vocals, some rock and roll.

I only have $500 to spend.

I would be interested in other amplifiers that work with the 600's.

If this is a repeat question you can let me know.

Happy Listening!

The #1 draw of the Lyr is the power it delivers.  You don't need that much power with an HD 600.  The Schiit amps (at least the solid state ones) from the Asgard down will do just fine at a much lower price.

I suggest that you get on some threads in the Equipment section of the forum and talk with other HD 600 owners about what amps they believe to be best with this can.
