The beauty of it is they don't all have to be the same type.  I have 4 different types in right now.  And the front tube is a single input driver so it can be changed individually.  The other six are output pairs and only need to be pairs but not necessarily perfectly matched since they're auto adjusting.

Yeah I bet a vintage matched septet wouldn't exactly be easy to come by

Pez hope you can make it, not sure where your out of but maybe we could arrange a carpool or something to save some $

I'll try and keep you guys updated, but we'll see.  I planned on bringing my GF.  Even if she doesn't actually join use at the meet, she'd enjoy the mini 'vacation' it would be.

That's cool and fwiw there is a large upscale shopping area called Birkdale that is only one exit down which would probably give her plenty to do during the meet

That's actually a great idea. I out in for the days off, and I'm putting money aside each week of my paycheck, so I think it'll work out. My GF might pitch in as well, so I think it might actually work smily_headphones1.gif.

Possibly bad news that I hope to correct.  I bumped the headphone outlet on my Super 7 and it became loose so I opened it up to see if I could re-tighten it.  In my foolish and impatient rush I mis-wired the internal connectors and my have fried part of the board.  I emailed Craig to see if I can get a diagram of the proper wiring to see if I did any permanent damage.  I'm actually an electronic technician so I have the proper tools and equipment at work to troubleshoot it but I'm asking him first to be safe.

I'm going to do everything in my power to have it fixed before the meet.

EDIT: I've figured out the proper wiring but it appears I may have fried a resistor.  Hopefully this is all, since this should be a rather simple repair on my part.  Just have to order one.

Tentative packing list:

Mac laptop with around 1800 lossless albums.

Cary XCiter DAC

Jan Meier-style crossfeed box.

McIntosh MAC4100 receiver

Violectric HPA-V100 headphone amp

Sony CD3000

HiFiMan HE-6

Audio-Technica ATH-7 electret headphones

Various homemade cables

Portable gear: Leckerton UHA-6, RSA Blackbird, Hidition NT-6 Pro, Noble 4C

Some stuff for sale too. I can bring the following...

Harman-Kardon HK670 vintage receiver, last of the Twin Power line.

Elekit 882R tubed headphone amp, with two sets of matched tubes.

Various vintage or semi-vintage headphones, including a somewhat-rare AKG Sextett that was sold by Radio Shack

If you're interested in anything I'm selling, PM me before the meet and I'll make sure it comes along. Otherwise they might be left behind if I'm short on space. No obligation to buy what you're interested in.

Sorry, no.  They're still about a 3-4 week lead time...  Until we can get that to "in stock" it's not fair to people who've been waiting.  I do plan to bring a few Mad Dog and Mad Dog Pros...

Very nice.  I've wanted to hear the Liquid Glass for a long time.  I've heard great things about it.  Probably the only possible competition for me for end game amps besides the EC BA and 2A3.  The sale on them would make it tempting if I had the dough.

I'll add you.  Curious about the NAD as well.  I've heard good things about it also.

I didn't read those comments to mean he'd have those amps for sale but that they would be used to demonstrate the hp's. I could be wrong...it happened once before.

It's starting to sound like this meet isn't going to last long enough for me to hear the combinations I want.  I'm going to have to make a list of priorities now.
