Yeah wavelength that's what I was trying to think of. I might borrow it for a few tracks again this year if that's ok, I'm curious to try it on my new setup

Nice find. They probably made the old portables better than some of the cheap players today.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised. The Super 7 should be better suited to low impedance as well with the transformer outputs. I'd like to hear the fostex as well as a contender for my next flagship.

How's it with your K712? Looking forward to hearing how it sounds with both my HD800 and K812.

Well, it was pointed out to me yesterday that the 20th is Easter, so unfortunately I won't be able to make this one since we've got Easter plans.

Still, looking forward to the pictures and writeups.

Much better than I expected. The K712 has scaled well with each upgrade. The bass on the amp reaches very deep but is a touch loose with the K712 but I think with the HD800 it should be just right. It's still a very clean and fast amp with just a touch of midrange sweetness. I don't particularly like tube amps that are overly too lush sounding.

Sorry to hear, I hadn't even considered that. Hope it doesn't interfere with too many others. We will be sure to get some good impressions for you.

Eh, nothing to do but buy some more cans with the money I was going to use for the hotel and trip. Sony MDR-MA900s on the way

Got a package in the mail today!

Few other recent tweaks
A quad of Psvane el34ph, suppose to be a nice compliment with the 009
Wireworld platinum USB cable, if anyone is curious how it sounds on their system

Defiant sorry you can't make it, we will be missing out on those sweet photo skills of yours

I think I'll miss hearing this the most out of anything that's going to be there too :(

Oh well, I'm sure we'll get together at some point.

No problem at all - I'll make sure that I bring it. Unless something magical happens (I've been doing a lot of traveling), I'll likely only run the CD player through the Peachtree and not worry about the Mac.

Also, might sound ridiculous to you guys, but I'll have my car there - if anyone is interested in hearing a well-sorted sound quality car, we can spin your favorite disc to what the mobile audio experience is all about as well.

Sorry you can't make it, neighbor. Perhaps we can organize a Greenville, SC-area meet up sometime.

I'm pretty sure I could make that :)

This is probably a given since HeadAmp is a vendor that will be there, but the GS-X will be there right? I'd really like to hear the GS-X with my HD800 and see how it compares with my Questyle CMA800R.

Justin would probably be the best person to answer but typically he usually brings the GS-X Mk2 and BHSE to meets from what I've seen.  I don't know much about the Questyle, but if I were in the market for a cost no object balanced solid state amp, the GS-X Mk2 would be at the top of my list personally.  I'm just one of the few who still refuses to jump on the fully balanced bandwagon strictly from a value perspective.

I'm hoping maybe he will eventually produce a refreshed GS-1 in the future but I know he is already busy enough as is trying to keep up with demand on the aforementioned amps.

Is it a lot better than the SR-007?
