Portable Amp for DT880 600ohm

Sup guys, just got a new laptop and there is quite a bit of static. Would a FiiO e12 eliminate the static and power a DT880 600ohm?

Or any other recommendation priced the same or less?

Anybody?

You'd be better off looking at a DAC/Amp and bypassing your onboard audio all together. I don't know of one that'll drive 600ohms though.

The main thing is to eliminate the static, as it sounds like I'm standing in the middle of a sand storm. If I don't get everything out of my DT880 600ohm, then so be it. Ill be using IEMs half the time anyways. I have a Xonar STX on my PC, which has different gain levels (<64, 64-300, 300-600) and the 64-300 is loud enough for my DT880 600ohm at about 75% with the mixers on 75/100.

I didn't realize the FiiO was strictly an amp, perhaps something like this? http://www.amazon.com/Topping-TP30-Digital-Amplifier-USB-DAC/dp/B005D7SKWK/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Would that have any chance of powering a DT880 600ohm decently?

edit: so basically what I need is a portable amp/dac that can drive 600ohm headphones for preferably <$150. Does this exist? :D

By portable, do you mean something that has a battery or something that can be plugged into an AC output for wherever you sit down?

The O2 (Objective 2) headphone amplifier ($120) can run off it's batteries or off an AC socket.

But chances are to remove the static problem you will also want to get an external USB DAC ($30-$65).

Thank you for your response, I ended up ordering an FiiO e17, and will get an e90k later if needed (assuming I will). Ill just use IEMs for now.
