btw, I didn't care much for the unmodified trifle-fis either and their execreble included cables but when modified, I did like them, conjoined to the J3s I had til recently. Oh well, I will have to do with the Sansa Fuze+ for a while and put up with the awful treble extension/presentation they give, though I guess I can't complain, given that I bought a reconditoned model for a mere $21.00, just to have something, b/c my J3s got lost.
Well, I didn't listen to that additional, I can't say much. They added extra drivers and all, it is a whole new product apparently.
I would gladly help you on either universal or custom iems but there is a big question out there, how much you can spend and from where you are willing to purchase. For example, Europeans usually get problems and extra taxes from non-Eu purchases.
What I can say is, depending on your budget, you can look for respected persons opinion. Average Joe and Joker are 2 fellas that I would trust to the end. For classical music, I would look for monitors with rather balanced sound, no big emphasis is anywhere on the FR spectrum, airy and "out of head" presentation. 2 top monitors comes to my mind, they are quite costly, but for this hobby, we spend lots of money to get satisfied right? Tralucent Audio 1+2 for universal (it has a custom-like shape btw) and Hidition NT6 for custom.
While I also like my own monitors, SE5way, I have to admit, I wouldn't call them the best for classical music. To me, they perform lovely and more than good enough, but they perform way better for some other genres, like rap for example.
