The X3 has 8GB of internal storage.

It isn't a valid con because considering the target market and the people who are going to use it. They aren't going to spend $500 on a high res DAP that plays file formats that are generally 400MB per album and say the 8GB internal storage is enough.

And yeah, you should thank FiiO. Now you get to have a piece of needed equipment in your house.

See I dis agree. I have a number of well loved 24bit flacs on my hm801 daps internal. N honestly I lived with only 21 or so songs for a week or so. Some internal storage would Be appreciated... N AS the owner of a high res 500$ DAP I feel the lack of internal storage to b slighty annyoing. N while the hm801 is rather dated now. It is my standard for what I want in a Dap. So I stand by my claim. But then again I may not entirely b in Fiios market ethier.. or after hearing the X5 I might b biggrin.gif

still even 8gb would b sufficuent... there r days when Ive forgotten my expansion cards (left em in my reader) n on those days at least I havr my one or two favorite albums

It has 2 card slots. Just leave one in and treat as internal. Still as much or more permanent storage than all but the ZX-1 with the added ability to carry as much on board as the ZX-1 and still swap the 2nd card whenever you want to have even more. Only AK or HM allows you to carry more music without swapping.

Joe, will the sample units have any time on them? If not, perhaps the 5 day rule could be waved for the 1st reviewer depending on how that fellow and you feel about break in.

I've got what should mostly be good news for you guys: James has decreed that each previewer should get ten days' time with the X5 on their hands. As you know from pm's, there are only about six members sharing each X5, so the delay in reaching the last previewer should not be excessive. Let me know if there are any problems smily_headphones1.gif

The only thing that was worrying me was this! I had to make enough time to try the player, now 10 days is definitely more than enough time to have a proper experience.

One question Joe, will we receive a list of known bugs or limitations if any exists?

Cheers
