Totally different sounds man. Both great, but it's not an on-the-fence decision. Unless you want something complementary - and excellent - in the Ref. 1.
PS. Idsynch totally called it. I'm a DITA fan for sure.
That's cool to hear that staff use the ZX1 paired with them too... Sounds great together. My Rx mk3 does amping duty when I feel like adding a bit more muscle. The Truth shows the benefits very nicely.
Great IEM you all have created.
Don't mean to go off topic, but could you give a very brief contrast of sound signatures of the DX90 and ZX1? Which pairs better with whichever Dita you have (there's the on topic bit)?

I asked Danny what other tips they recommend as I was having trouble getting a good seal (I prefer the reference tips from DITA).
The best we've found so far are the Sony LL tips. They work best. We will be getting some tips made and we are in the process of finalizing the design. The hard part is getting the material composition right.
As for headphones, that's still a long ways in the making.
The AK240 balanced edition should see light towards the end of the 3rd quarter. It will only be available in Truth Edition and probably in the standard black finish and very, very limited quantities in gold.
Using the Sony LL tips today, they seem to add a bit more bass on the low end, I will do some tips testing this Thursday and report back (I seem to have amassed too many tips).
Truth Edition just arrived today. I was so excited, I actually drove home from my office and back to grab them (30 mile round trip) for enjoyment during the workday.
Man, this a big box. I thought the Shure SE846 packaging was enormous, but this takes it to another level. Thanks to Dita for making sure I didn't have any issues with customs, btw.
On plugging them into my ZX1, my first impression is how crisp everything is. It's definitely "bright" (using the size L medium bore tips) but it's not harsh to me. It's shocking how good the bass and mids are despite the crisp quality of the treble. Clarity so far is fantastic. Soundstage is large and airy for an IEM, especially compared to the last dynamic IEM I owned (JVC FX850). It's nice to be impressed with an IEM right out of the box after being disappointed by the Roxannes. Kudos to Dita. Can't wait for the experience of burning these babies in more.
What are Sony LL tips? The Sony Hybrids?
Btw, has anyone tried these with comply tips? I figure if the Sony tips fit, the 200 size will fit as well? I could use a bit more isolation/better fit than the included silicone tips, although they're not terrible. Wondering if they'll dull/muffle the sound at all.
