Beyerdynamic DT880 Pro Rewire nightmare

I have browsed this forum for a very long time eating up advice as much as possible for audio for my new PC build.  I purchased my DT880 pro's with my new build in March of 2013 so it is with extreme sadness I am writing this.

Long story short.....I was gone and my wonderful wife decided to allow the kids to use my DT880's.  When I returned home my wife said, dont be mad, but.... the kids got in a fight over whos turn it was, ripped the entire cable out of my dt880's and left me soundless.

After I cooled off I began to dig through guides on how to rewire it, I am great with soldiering iron and began the attempt.  To my horror I opened my 880's to find one of the "tabs" of my sound driver completely ripped out and dancing around inside the headphone piece.  Now by tab I mean the soldier point the wire connects to on the DT880 driver.  I found a picture on this site of someones and he had them labeled 1,2, and 3.  My #1 point is ripped off.  (sorry its not allowing me to link photos yet just made the account. if you follow the link its the photo under (the wiring)

I read another forum from someone who said to be EXTREMELY CAREFUL when opening them because those tabs are barely held in place.

I need to know if theres any hope now to rewire without having to purchase another sound driver.  And if so where do I go from here?

ps.  I apologize if my hi-fi lingo isnt the best.

The tabs are not super strong but are not particularly delicate either. If you have any experience taking apart electronics (don't just go pulling things apart with maximum force... sounds like you know that) there is little risk of pulling the tabs off when you take the headphones apart. Nice and gentle is all it takes.

Anyways, depending which tab got pulled off things could go well or realllllly poorly :)

What you are looking for is a micro-fine wires (about the thickness of hair) going from 2 of the tabs into the driver (crack open the right driver for comparison). If both of the tabs with micro-fine wires are still attached to the left driver you are fine! If these micro-fine wires are busted, your drivers are busted.

Can you post (or link to) detailed pictures? A cell phone on max-rez nice and tight on the wires always helps.

Anyways, if the tab that got pulled off did not have the micro-fine wire attached just resolder everything where it came from and it should work again.

If the tab DID have the micro-fine wire, you have no choice but to buy new drivers.

It is definitely the one with the micro fine wire.  I can see what looks like a wisp of hair sticking up from below it but its not connected to anything and not long enough to attempt to re-connect it.  It was the "blue" wire connection that was ripped out.  The other earpiece still works with the red/white connection.  I guess the only thing to do at this point is to purchase a new driver.  Thank you for your help.  I would post a photo but since I have determined it is definitely the one with the micro-fine wire....if I manage to figure out some way to reattach it I will post a photo of that.
