What's the Skype service, please?
It sounds interesting, cheaper than having to pay for a livechat client, anyway.

Damn! Dubstep has an new meaning on the XS. The XS have nearly no bass, but more subbass. This makes the highs addictive and the tune going, my ears love the bass but are intolerable to it, therefore the XS are perfect.
Try this album for size.

Did a photo shoot with the XS. I'd ship the typewriter for you to do a photoshoot with it, since you'd do better than I would, val, but this weighs 10KG :O

Maybe what he means is that there's less midbass punch/slam but more subbass? Although with dubstep I'd say there's a good amount of both.

I mean that I don't hear as much bass as you would with the M100, but I hear a lot of subbass - bass not as equally as loud as normal bass on the XS. Meaning bass doesn't have as much presence on the XS.

It's true. I hear no bass compared to the M100 and the Remix Remote. The XS HAVE bass, just not excessive amounts of it.

The M-80 had a distinctive mid-bass hump.  This was a negative aspect of the M-80 as it took away from the sub-bass presence, but added more bass to the M-80 overall.  With the XS, V-Moda flattened out that hump decreasing the overall level of bass, but this allowed there to have (perceptually) more sub-bass because it wasn't overshadowed by the midr/low-bass as much.  I hope this makes sense.

The XS is a flatter, more neutral M-80 (which is what I wanted the M-100 to be actually XD).  The M-80 was already flatter and more neutral than the M-100.  So compared to the M-100, the M-80 will have little bass.  Decrease the bass further to get the XS, the XS will have very little bass compared to the M-100.

I retract my statement about the bass.
The XS have bass... A good amount of it, but you have to get the right volume and fit (seal) to find it. I didn't find the fit and seal, but now I did....
I 'massaged' the pads a bit by squeezing them together, then stretched the headband for 30 seconds on my head with no head adjustment, then bent the headband back a bit.
The XS remind me of a moped (a more classy, high end one, stealthy and quiet for onlookers), while the M100 are a motorbike (not scared to make a noise and make it good).

I have the M-100 and the XS incoming and I always consider the M-100 the most complete package headphone out there (Durability, Build Quality, etc.), however I just cannot understand why the speak easy cable doesn't have a three button set up, like they use to include with the old M80.  Love the M100 and likewise I'm sure I'll love the XS, however it is annoying having to pull your iPhone out every now and again to adjust volume.

Can anyone recommend a remote cable compatible with the XS / M100? I can't find the old remote cable on V-Moda anymore.

If you know someone that works for Best Buy, they can get the V-moda XS for $105 using their employee discount.

I'm one of 'those guys'. I have a smartwatch that does the volume for me. biggrin.gif
I do have a three button mic cable for the V-Moda. I could sell it to you if you wanted, I have two since I have 2 LP2s (long story)

New 3 button mic cable is coming out soon according to Valkolton, but the old one was pulled because apple changed their Mfi licensing and V-M are probably making a speakeasy 3 button mic (it says you can buy it inside the m100 manual)

Honestly a good way to control volume is to have it on a tolerable volume for everything. The iPhone is pretty light too, get a good case and you can carry it in your hand.
On the subject of cables.... There's really no cable besides the V-M one I can think of that works with iPhone.
But I mean, there's always ebay.

Just look around, you're bound to find one.

Just a thing with inferior cables - the sound suffers.

Yeah, with the XS and the M100 it's a great combo. I swap between the two during the day and once the XS has been broken in, it's pretty damn good. It's always handy to have an on ear and a over ear headphone.
