I think some people were actually thinking that was the price, while it was at $1000.  Moving it up to $10M, makes it blatantly obvious that it's just a placeholder.  Personally, it was obvious at $1000, but there's always someone.

I don't know guys, if it ships in only 1 day then I'm sold no matter how much it is.

I'd imagine it will be reasonably priced in comparo with M-100. They look amazing btw!

When I saw it at $1001.00, I had visions of a portable LCD-X sounding headphone; I was ready to order.:L3000:

Interesting design. I have heard a friend's V-MODA Crossfade M-100 over the ear headphones and those are crazy good. I love the sound separation and the noise cancelling on those. If these are "upgrades" to those, I can only imagine how nice they will sound.

I watched the video--so the new XS will improve on the sound of the M-80.  I own the M-100s, but have never heard the M-80.  How does the sound of the M-80 compare to the M-100?

I preferred the sound of the M-80 to the M-100. The 80s were a lot more linear in nature in contrast to the M-100's v shaped signature.

I have both the M-80 and M-100.  The M-80 is more balanced in its sound compared to the M-100.  The M-80 is bassy but has less of a recessed midrange, so its bass does not seem as strong as that of the M-100.  The only drawbacks of the M-80 are (a) the treble which is rolled off and (b) the fit.  If Val changed both of these on this headphone for the better, and made it more compact with the clickfold hinges, he has a winner.

I carry the M-80 around more than the M-100 due to the thinness of the former when in its case.

Now if it would only get a real price (pi billion dollars is very Googlish).

Nice video and headphone.  Looks like the on-ear headphone I've been waiting for.  Just wish I knew when it was coming out and for how much.

Agreed with everything you said nice comparison! I will add that owning both the M-80 and M-100, both are great complements to each other - especially when you factor in how much of an improvement the M-100 gets with XL pads. The comfort is better and the mids balance out and becomes less V-shaped and more smiley-shaped with tighter bass.

I'm glad to have both sound sigs though, depending on my mood and how portable I want to go. That said, the XS is really intriguing and I love that it'll be lighter and more head-conforming, with a better seal.

i've got the m-80's. absolutley love the sound on them, the bass is strong and i really like the sound of it. dont know how the m-100 sounds though.

i've always wanted my m-80s to be able to fold up. i think its kind of funny they didnt impliment the folding feature in the original m-80 because the wire isnt even in the metal part so it would be really really easy to just put in a hinge... i wonder if i could do it myself, even...
