Hey Jones - Just wondering, do you have any impressions anywhere? I'm thinking about picking these up but I'm not sure if I'll like them over the LCD-3.

I have not posted my impressions on Head-Fi. The LCD-X are good sounding, and their strengths do take care of the known weaknesses in the LCD-3. But IMO they lack the decay after the note that makes the LCD-3 more natural and relaxed sounding overall. If we were talking HDTVs, the LCD-X are like a LCD set, and the LCD-3 are like a Kuro Plasma.

Probably a matter of taste once again. Some people prefer the LCD3 and others the LCD-X. I'm planing to try a set of LCD-X one day but currently my wallet doesn't allow me... :P

Yup. Would not mind keeping both, but a man has to know his limitations. My LCD-3s are more my cup of tea.

Maybe I have one of those "exceptional sounding" LCD-3s? smily_headphones1.gif

People who haven owned one of LCD3 and X are really difficult to make decision to purchase the other one, and same here. Good Cups.

That might actually be the case. I have owned 2 pairs of LCD3s before, one is significantly more transparent and natural although both fall into Audeze's standard according to their responses.
